Term Three, at Hazelhurst, with Melissa.

How quickly time passes! Has that been stated before? Next Tuesday the last Art Class, in Term 2. I have re-enrolled again. No. That's not tautology. I HAVE re-enrolled in Melissa's class before.
She has her lessons fit her students and, in my case, I mainly listen in but absolutely do my own thing.
I get oil paintings ready, at home and then, once Melissa has got everybody working and she wanders around, advising, she does just that for me.
I don't claim to be advanced but I HAVE been interested in art, since the late 50s, coming close to becoming an art teacher, in the early 70s.
I just want the right kind of advice. I don't want to be 'set' things to do.
As I've written elsewhere, I appreciate the way Melissa just advises, chats, praises, encourages etc., creating a relaxed atmosphere.

Oyster Bay Art and Craft Festival, 2007

My first official time, having five paintings on display at the annual
Oyster Bay Art and Craft Festival,

at Oyster Bay Public School,
May 25 - 27.
Not this particular painting.

That was for my daughter.

But, hopefully, enough variety, within my favourite style, to show what stage I am up to, at the moment.

"The inaugural Oyster Bay Art & Craft Festival was held in 1970 on the 3-6 site and has become a tradition of Oyster Bay Public School. Each year since its inception, thousands of dollars worth of educational resources go directly into classrooms and school programs as a result of this highly successful fund-raising event. The wonderful support of parents and the Oyster Bay community has meant that this event has grown and thrived. The Festival is renowned far and wide for its excellent organisation and the very high standard of exhibits for purchase and playground activities for children."

Portrait of the artist - when he was younger.

Painted it a few weeks ago, from a photo, taken, in 1980.

Looking forward to returning to Hazelhurst Arts and Community Centre, next week.

Am currently working on a painting of my daughter, from a photo, taken in Paris, when she showed me around, two years ago.

Should be receiving the form to enter four of my paintings in the Oyster Bay Annual Art show, today.
